Trust Head of Mathematics and Foundational Numeracy

About the role

In order to meet the needs of our secondary schools we are looking to appoint a Head of Mathematics and Foundational Numeracy. 

The secondary schools in the Trust have started working together more closely and have a broadly aligned Mathematics curriculum and ways of working, however, outcomes in Mathematics are below other course subjects. We want to appoint an experienced and successful Head of Mathematics and Foundational Numeracy to work alongside our Headteachers and Heads of Mathematics to ensure that every child is confident in number and achieve the grade they deserve.

This is a Trust-wide leadership post, responsible for:

• Designing and leading a high-quality, inclusive Maths curriculum across key stages
• Supporting and leading a high-quality, inclusive Maths teaching across key stages
• Supporting the evaluation of Mathematics and implementing subsequent action plans
• Delivering bespoke CPD and coaching, mentoring and modelling to support excellence in teaching and learning for both teachers and teaching assistants
• Monitoring performance data and pupil outcomes to inform strategy and improvement
• Ensuring a Trust-wide and consistent focus on foundational numeracy across all key stages so any gaps in pupil knowledge are identified and are identified and acted upon to enable them to progress quickly

Salary & Benefits

Required from: 1st September 2026

Pay Scale:  L13–L17 (starting point determined by experience; salary range reviewed as the Trust grows)
