Chaplaincy

Everyone in our communities deserves to experience God’s love through prayer, encounter, service, and formation. To achieve this, we will provide high-quality provision for Catholic Life throughout our Trust schools with support given to Chaplains and Leads for Catholic Life in collaboration with local clergy and the Archdiocese.

Across all our academies, we will have:

A visible Chaplaincy presence

  • Each school will receive ongoing support with Catholic Life and Prayer & Liturgy.

Prayer and Liturgy

  • Daily opportunities for prayer.
  • Regular Mass, Reconciliation and liturgical celebrations in partnership with clergy.
  • The offer to receive the Sacraments of Initiation.
  • Pupil-led liturgy and prayer experiences.

 Meaningful encounters with faith

  • Retreats and reflection days.
  • Opportunities for silence, contemplation and spiritual growth.
  • Appropriate faith formation (for pupils, staff, and families).

Enable service and outreach

  • Charitable or social justice projects.
  • Pupils will be encouraged to serve their local and global communities.
  • Partnerships with charities and parish communities to serve others.

Support personal dignity and belonging

  • Every person will be known and valued as made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26–27).
  • All members of our communities will be treated with dignity and encouraged to live out their potential as children of God.

“It is not enough for young people to be loved, they need to know they are loved.”

Saint John Bosco

Developing pupil leadership in faith

  • Opportunities for young people to plan and lead prayer.
  • Links with parish ministry (altar serving, Eucharistic Ministry, etc.).

Work in partnership with families and parishes

  • Regular engagement with parents and carers in the faith life of the school.
  • Strong links with local parishes and the wider Catholic community.

“I have come so that you may have life and have it abundantly.”

John 10:10

We want every person to experience:

A consistently positive experience of Catholic education.

The love of God through relationships, prayer, and service.

Value and dignity, understanding their unique worth and purpose.

The richness of Catholic education, knowing that all are welcome.

An invitation to make an informed and confident choice about their ongoing faith journey.
